Tell us about « 2 » your now album. The inspiration, themes, what ties it all together?

It all ties together in that the album reflects everything about me as I am today. Kleerup 2.0 , if you will hehe.

There are artists such as AlunaGeorge, Rebecca & Fiona, Yumi Zouma. When you started thinking on this project, did you have any other artists in mind?

Yes but I must say I´m pleasantly surprised by the colourful palette that the different guests represent, i usually use people that are somehow connected to me, be it through a management I know or friends recommendation etc.

What is the story behind the title « trouble » your new single ?

I just started thinking about using the variations of the same phonetics: “I mean Trouble” and then “I´m In Trouble”. The melody came to me in a massive way , i heard the whole production but it took a long time before it finally got nailed!

You’ve worked with legends like Robyn, Lykke Li, Titiyo, Sabina Ddumba, AlunaGeorge and as a remixer for Lady Gaga, The Cardigans, Moby and Susanne Sundfør. What do you prefer: doing your own tracks or the remixes?

I enjoy all aspects of being an Artist/Producer/Musician: playing live, producing, remixing ,DJíng, even doing promotion! after completing an album promotion is a walk in the park thank god. But to answer the question; I prefer making my own music but hey, if a happening artist wants my touch, don´t hesitate to get in touch about a remix!

Andreas, to conclude this interview, we have a few more questions to better know you. Sometimes one word is enough!

3 words to define your music?

Make grown men weep, sincere, thorough .

The song you advice us to listen in your discography?

Check out the album Me And My Army;”Thank God For Sending Demons”. That´s sort of a Kleerup follow up but disguised as a band effort.  otherwise I´d recommend TRU from the new album.

One word about France?

Oooohhh I love France! i can almost say France is a big part of me since my dad has a small house 100 meters from the beach right where Cap d´Antibes starts (the west side). So we spend every summer there and also I´ve been working there a bit, in Paris. It would be a dream come true to work with some of my heroes: Air, Daft Punk, Etienne de Crecy,Phoenix, Mirwais etc. If U have any connections, please send my album!!

Your favorite track these days?

Dua Lipa “Be the One”.
