So tell us, who is Pawws? Why did you chose this name?
Pawws is me, Lucy Taylor. I chose to have a new name to start something fresh – a new chapter!

How did you start out making music?
I have been playing the piano and flute since I was 6 and have played in a few bands. I decided to start writing my own music last year after finishing a tour with Kele Okereke.

Congrats on the first Single … the tracks are great. What was the inspiration for the songs?
Thank you! I’m glad you like them. I drew a lot of inspiration from my own and friend’s experiences. Slow Love is about enjoying the first moments of a new relationship and Time To Say Goodbye is about accepting when something is over.

Have you got any other good songs?

Yes! haha i hope so! I have lots more to come and i’m excited for people to hear them.

There have been comparisons to artists like Annie and Robyn, who are your musical influences?
I love big songwriters like Paul Simon, Peter Gabriel and Joni Mitchell. I really like what I have heard from Annie and i love Robyn so i’m very happy to be compared to those artists.

Is there a « Big hit » sung by a (dead or alive) artist that you would have liked for yourself?
Africa by Toto.

Who are You Loving in the Charts at the moment?
I’m really loving the MKS song by Dev Hynes and the album Immunity by Jon Hopkins is amazing. Oh and the new MGMT « Your Life is a Lie » single is amazing.

What were the last two albums your bought?
Jon Hopkins ‘Immunity’ and Pavement ‘Major Leagues EP’

What was the last single you bought?
Solange « Losing You’

What can we find in your pocket/bag right now ?
John Grisham’s book ‘The Partner’, my headphones and my ipod.

To finish, a song that may be on your mind right now.
Solange ‘Losing You’ as I was just talking about it 🙂
